Description
DOOR-SAFE™ is an American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Type Approved ultrasonic unit that provides a quick and simple method of establishing water and weather tightness in doors, hatches, citadels and windows.
The easy to use DOOR-SAFE™ kit consists of 2 units, an ultrasonic transmitter unit and a portable, hand-held receiver unit connected to a flexible inspection microphone and hard-hat compatible headphones, see Kit list.
The transmitter and receiver are each supplied in protective leather cases fitted with neck straps to allow for hands-free use. The complete DOORSAFE™ kit is contained in a blue polymer foam-lined carry case for easy transportation and storage.
UNLIKE HOSE OR CHALK TESTING, THE ULTRASONIC WATER-TIGHT TESTER:

HOW THE DOOR-SAFE™ ULTRASONIC WATER-TIGHT TESTER WORKS…
The principle for ultrasonic testing is very simple. A transmitter generating an ultrasonic signal is placed on one side of the door, either
on the tripod or using the built-in magnets to attach to a suitable steel wall. The surveyor or operator, then uses the DOOR-SAFE™ ultrasonic receiver to detect any ultrasonic sounds that pass through to the other side of the door with pin-point accuracy. If ultrasound can pass through, then it is also true that water may be able to pass through and the door is not water-tight. The size of the problem can be established from the strength of the signal detected.
